This position is responsible for helping to build WRAs new Cultural Resources service line. Responsibilities include preparing cultural resources assessments for a wide range of project types, authoring technical reports, and coordinating with tribal authorities as needed. It is expected that the successful applicant will demonstrate expertise in one area of cultural resources management (CRM), such as archeology or architectural history, and have a familiarity with all areas of CRM. This work may involve completion of standalone technical studies and assessments and/or be in support of CEQA/NEPA, Section 106/SHPO compliance, and AB52 compliance. This position will support project managers and will also be responsible for coordinating with cultural/paleontology subconsultants. While no supervisory responsibilities will be required initially, this position will be responsible for recruiting and supervising others as the service line grows.

In this role, the successful applicant may choose to work remotely, in person, or on a hybrid schedule and will be within commuting distance to one of our 3 Northern California offices (San Rafael, Petaluma, and Emeryville).

Responsibilities:
Complete cultural and tribal cultural resources sections of CEQA and NEPA documents and coordinate work by cultural resource sub-consultants
Prepare cultural resource and tribal culture resource related scopes and cost estimates in support of project proposals
Directly supervise all cultural resource work performed by WRA and sub-consultant staff
Maintain expertise in federal and state regulations pertaining to protection and management of cultural and tribal cultural resources
Assist with permit applications for projects requiring NHPA Section 106 compliance
Other duties as assigned

Requirements:
Has earned a Masters degree in archaeology or cultural resources management
Has 8+ years of experience, preferably in the environmental consulting industry
Manages multiple tasks and meet pressing deadlines while maintaining high quality work products; seeks assistance from others when needed to ensure quality products that are responsive to clients needs
Writes and communicates effectively and professionally, while demonstrating openness, honesty, consideration, and tact
Listens well and asks others for their opinions and feedback
Respects and responds to client needs and employs a team approach to ensuring that client expectations with respect to project process and work products are exceeded
Anticipates problems; gathers information and weighs alternatives against objectives to arrive at reasonable solutions that best meet client needs
Is detail oriented regarding work products and communication; is able to follow established procedures to ensure accuracy in documentation and data; and demonstrates expertise in organizing and maintaining detailed and comprehensive records of data and communications
Performs a wide variety of tasks, manages transitions effectively, and adapts to shifting client needs; responds to requests for service in a timely and thorough manner
Works to improve personal performance by pursuing opportunities for continuous learning/feedback and exhibits a can-do approach that fosters a team spirit and inspires co-workers to excel
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including, Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint as well as Google applications and other available project management tools.
